Sometimes when you remove a blackberry from BES it still has an IT policy attached to it preventing use and causing the Blackberry to give out messages that "it is still attached to BES" or that "it needs to be removed from the BES"
Solution:
On the blackberry check for the IT Policy (this may be slightly different depending on the blackberry)
Check Options > Security > Firewall
Check to see if an IT Policy is present on the phone
If it is you must do the following:
Install Blackberry Desktop manager onto your computer
Back up the blackberry using Blackberry Desktop Manager
Manually back up the Blackberry
Perform a factory reset using the Blackberry Desktop Manager
